Barlow Lens

Barlow lenses are used to double or triple the focal length of the telescope. Are placed between the microscope eyepieces and are useful to observe planets and get close-ups.
The best are the short length and greater number of components. These lenses are usually 2x or 3x the number indicates the multiplication. There are also more powerful models such as the TeleVue Powermate reaching the 5x.

Barlow Apochromat

To illustrate the use is good to understand the following example. If you have a telescope of 900mm focal length lens and 10 ocular enlargement obtained is 90x. If this same telescope is added a 2x Barlow lens then will be 180x magnification obtained.
It is possible to extend the power of a telescope so infinite, but each has a limit that depends on the target diameter and equipment quality.
