The telescope Celestron 70 EQ is one of the most used by beginners. It is a 70mm refractor telescope aperture and focal length of 900mm. The mount is an equatorial 2, EQ2. The price is around 200 dollars.
There are other variants of the same team, but manufactured by other brands with a price of 100 dollars.
Another telescopes can supplant it, ask to the shopkeepers about equipment with the next characteristics: 70mm aperture, 900mm focal and EQ2 mount. The choice is a personal decision.
With this telescope you can see especially the moon, some planets and the sun (always with proper filter). It is not good for astrophotography.
